Milliseconds to Impact, USS Essex (CV-9)

Yoshinori Yamaguchi's D4Y Suisei dive bomber milliseconds before impacting on the port side of USS Essex (CV-9). You can see in this view that Yamaguchi came across the deck. Joseph LoMastro tried to avoid the erratic path of the kamikaze, but ended up moving into the impact area of the D4Y, which killed him. Only parts of his body were found.
