Kamikaze Headed for USS Cabot (CVL-28)

The A6M Zero-Sen fighter flown by a kamikaze pilot seconds before hitting USS Cabot (CVL-28). The name of the Japanese pilot who hit the USS Cabot is unknown. The black smudges around the plane are bursts of 20mm and 40mm anti-aircraft fire. American anti-aircraft fire was so intense, the ship's guns would sometimes inadvertently fire into other American ships. Click on the image to enlarge.
